Foundational Knowledge
Working with colleagues Joshua Twery and Dominic Rutan, we created a condensed research write-up that dealt with the relationship between literacy and Social Studies education.
Looking at a piece that was published in the Australian Journal of Teacher Education, we were able to learn about various note-taking strategies and the difference between mono-logical and dialogical teaching practices. This study re-affirmed that although certain approaches can work for various classrooms, a dialogical method can be the most effective in connecting with students. It is important for teachers to stay up-to-date on new research, and to be familiar with methods that have worked in the past and are developing in present time. |
