Background
I was born in Bethesda, Maryland, and spent my entire childhood and adolescence residing in Darnestown, Maryland with my parents and younger sister.
I enrolled at Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, MD, in 2007, where I was active on various sports teams, clubs, and other organizations. I was a four-year varsity goaltender for the ice hockey team, and was also a three-year varsity letter-man for the boy's volleyball team. I anchored the sports report for the school's closed-circuit weekly show, Cougar TV, and wrote for the Tracks yearbook. I graduated from Quince Orchard in 2011 at DAR Constitution Hall, where I had the honor of representing the student body as a commencement speaker. Upon graduation, I ventured to James Madison University in August 2011, where I had been actively pursing my degrees. During my time at JMU, I was able to continue my ice hockey goaltending career, as a member of the Dukes' Ice Hockey team. We were excited to win back-to-back Blue Ridge Hockey Conference championships in 2013 and 2014! I have also had opportunities to travel all throughout the world during my college experience. Just in four years, I have been to Mexico, China, Europe, and Australia. During my senior year of college, I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days playing with the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League. This was an experience of a lifetime, that I will forever cherish and will be excited to share with my students! I have recently graduated with an undergraduate degree from JMU in Political Science, with minors in Secondary Education and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. I will begin graduate school in May 2015, hoping to obtain a Master of Arts in Teaching by May 2016. ContactFeel free to contact me with any comments, questions, concerns, or feedback!
